Community shelves

Passing stories forward to local readers

Every volume on our shelves once lived in a neighbor's home. We welcome clean, gently read paperbacks and hardcovers that are ready for their next journey.

What we gladly welcome

Because space inside our traveling van is precious, we prioritize clean, durable reading material that readers of all generations can carry home immediately.

Care Guidelines

Children & youth books

Materials we decline

Clean fiction, crime novels, contemporary poetry collections, and graphic novels in sound reading condition with intact spines and covers.

Illustrated picture books, middle-grade adventures, and young adult paperbacks that can withstand enthusiastic hands and shared playground benches.

We cannot accept water-damaged volumes, broken spine remnants, outdated reference encyclopedias, or commercial textbooks that our readers cannot use.

Micro-contributions

Direct road funding

Weatherproof Storage

Fuel & Route Upkeep

Supports heavy-duty wooden crates, rain covers, and rubber ground mats that protect paperbacks during wet outdoor browsing sessions.

Modest recurring contributions directly cover diesel fuel, seasonal tire rotations, and scheduled brake checks to keep our wheels turning reliably toward weekly neighborhood stops.

Volunteer Supplies

Supplies archival book tape, spine labels, canvas tote bags, and curbside chalk markers for weekly volunteer crews.

Donating more than two boxes?

Schedule a dedicated pickup or curbside hand-off so our team can prepare storage space before our next neighborhood route.
